A friend posted the article How to set up a VPN in 10 minutes for free (and why you urgently need one). I'm now up and running on Opera with its VPN turned on. I kind of like it as a browser too.

Nicer Day

I had problems falling asleep last night. I decided that I forgot my nighttime med, so I took it and ate some grits. The grits were artificial bacon flavor, and I thought that they were gross, but waste not, want not and all that. I finally fell asleep.

While I was tossing and turning, I remembered that there was an exercise crase that involved a balance board. It's supposed to strengthen your core and legs, which should help with my balance. I found one used on eBay, so I bought it. We'll see if it helps.

While I was at Aldi last night, I saw some cinnamon raisin bread, and I thought that it would make delicious french toast, so I bought it. I was right. Burp :)

It's a nicer day--blue skies and 58F. This yo-yo weather is wacky. But it'll be nice weather to go to the store later.

I forgot to mention that I'm trying a personal Kanban system for productivity. It's based on a Japanese system for tracking workflow. It has four columns: To-do, which is a catchall for things that should get done sometime; Do today, In progress, and Done. You're supposed to limit the items in the In progress category. I thought that it would help with my tendency to take on too much and to procrastinate. There's an online tool that I'm using called KanbanFlow. We'll see if it helps. The biggest problem that I see is that something like a class will sit in "in progress" for a long time. I suppose that I could break it up into smaller tasks.

Mom is still doing well. Her numbers are good. She's planning to visit my aunt in Chicago in April, and come over to see me around Memorial Day.

I forgot to mention that the local park district has an exercise facility, including an indoor track. I could see using an indoor track more often than walking in the streets here. I could load up an audiobook (I first said "a book on tape"! Dating myself!), and listen while walking without worrying about traffic. When I have more money, I'd like to join it. I was looking at Road Scholar, which has "educational travel for adults," and they have some really neat tours. But most of them require a fair amount of walking, so I want to get in shape to be able to do them with ease. That's my goal.

Anyway, I need to throw myself together and go to the grocery store.
