Rest

I spontaneously woke up at 10:30 AM. Had breakfast, and napped for a couple of hours. Amazingly, woke up to my alarm, although an argument going on outside helped.

I'm still feeling hammered. I'm in the process of making lunch. I need to run out and get cat food and gas. Then I'll do some stuff around here. I also need to review a resume that we just received for the Library Director position at work.

I was having stomach cramps, so I decided to lie down. This time I did oversleep, but now I feel well-rested. I need to eat dinner, and then will run to the store.

It looks like we will do a phone interview with the new Library Director candidate.

Added: The muscles on the left side of my back are aching. That was the side on which I had my book bag yesterday. I didn't think that it was that heavy, but I also put the tome of the conference proceedings in there. Why, oh why, do conferences have to print such large volumes? If I need a door stop, it'll be a good one.

Lazy Day

I wanted a lazy day, and I more-or-less am having one. I did get my tired butt out to the store to pick up cat food. (Crisis narrowly averted.) There's a big storm overhead, which is adding to the lazy vibe.

I've been looking at Airbnbs in Chicago. It would be nice to spend a couple of days up there without a conference hanging over my head. I found a couple of places in the $40-$50 range that look good. We'll see; the next couple of months are likely to be hectic with my boss leaving.

I'm going to eat dinner, and then probably read and go to bed early. I need to get in early the rest of the week to cover lunches for the front desk worker. (My boss is on vacation.)
