All systems go for my Detroit trip

Have my ticket, made arrangements to have my cat and place checked on, and got at least some of the books that I hoped to take with me. (Shipping them out tomorrow.) The essentials are taken care of, although I still have a ton of stuff to do before Sunday.

And yes, need this one bad. It's funny how I think of my mom's home as a place of refuge, even though it's not the home that I grew up in. It goes to show that a home really is the people in it and not the physical place. Kind of cool.
