Language Day

Woke up, as usual, to two cats staring at me. "Mommy, are you going to get up and feed us?" I suppose that I'm lucky that they don't wake me up.

Napped and slept for an extra 1.5 hours. I'm feeling more well-rested. Woke up to the same two pairs of eyes staring :)

Studied some German. Made more German flashcards. Studied more German.

Mom called. She sounds a lot better and is feeling better. (She said that's because she's mad. She wants to leave!) They're keeping her there, though, until they talk to her doctor on Monday.

I took another nap. My justification was that you transfer things that you've studied into long-term memory when you sleep :)

German went okay. She thinks that I can hear something once and remember it, but I need to pound it into my brain. Now I need to study Italian.

Italian Day

Got up and studied Italian. I really need to work on my Italian vocabulary because that's what stops me from speaking Italian.

My Italian lesson went okay, but I seem to be forgetting present tense with all the tenses rattling around in my head. I need to drill on it. No Italian next week because my teacher will be gone.

Had a nice nap. Got into my cleaning clothes. Studied some Italian present tense and made some flashcards. Put the deep-dish pizza in the oven. I found an Italian magazine online and an Italian science magazine that I'd like to subscribe to, but I don't have the money right now. Oh, I found some articles from it online.

Put the non-perishable groceries away. The pizza was delicious, but now I'm in a food coma. Looked at the Oscars red carpet fashions. (I don't watch the show but check on it online.) Why is Timothée Chalamet not wearing a shirt? And why is Kristen Stewart wearing shorts?

Got the garbage out. I'm feeling too sleepy to clean, and my back hurts, so I'm going to make some Italian flashcards (done). It's good to have multiple things to work on. I printed out an Italian article about climate change so that I can circle all the words that I don't know and write in their translation. Oh cool, I can get the basic idea without looking for a translation (although there are words that I don't know). It's about burying CO2 under the ocean. I started reading the article, and I was right about the premise.

I am so sleepy. Maybe I should just go to bed and get up early.
