San Francisco...Open Up Your Golden Gate...Which Sounds Slightly Risqué....

I haven't been able to get my air conditioning fixed because I haven't had enough time to clean the downstairs enough for it to be viewable by the apartment management. (And don't tell me that it really isn't that bad, and I'm setting my standards too high. It really is that bad. Between school, work, and depression, I haven't cleaned it since I moved in.) I also have a leaky pipe, so it needs to get fixed sooner rather than later. (This weekend I'll focus on the place if I can't get it done earlier.) However, last night, I couldn't fall asleep for three hours because it was too damn hot. I'm wondering if I should run out now and buy a box fan for my bedroom. However, I did wake up to my alarm for the first time in ages, so lowering the dose of my med is having an impact. Good.

In other exciting news, there's a house going up for auction in Lincoln that I'm really interested in, but I need to fill out an application with my credit union for a loan. We'll see what happens....

And I took one of those silly "What City Should You Live In?" quizzes, and wound up with...San Francisco. Glad that my 20+ years in the Bay Area have been validated. Now if only I was independently wealthy, I'd go back, but I'd probably live in Berkeley.

I'm actually feeling tired, so I'll give it a shot. If i have to, I'll bring the air mattress down into the basement. I don't want to get a box fan though because Zara might stick a paw into it. I'll get a pedestal fan tomorrow.

Oh, Harlee and Zara are handling the heat surprisingly well. I've been especially worried about Harlee because she's geriatric, but the downstairs stays pretty cool, and today was the first day that she looked at all uncomfortable. They don't seem to be blaming me for the heat. (They're cats, and Mommy controls the universe, right?)
