From my dad:
Okay, I'm a little freaked. (His dad died of heart failure.) Now I'm wondering if I should have planned to go to Chicago over the holidays, but it's a little late now.
Juggling everything that needs to be juggled over the next couple of years will be interesting.
I hope that he's okay.
On my front, I got a scare about a month ago. I woke up in the middle of
the night with my left arm numb from the shoulder down and intermittent
pains in my chest. The pains came on the pulse so I knew it was my heart.
I went to see a cardiologist and had him check me out. It wasn't a heart
attack; he doesn't know what it was. The tests showed that my coronary
arteries are clear.
As part of the checkout he noticed that my blood pressure is high so he put
me on some blood pressure medicine. I've been monitoring my pressure on a
daily basis and the medicine isn't working. I'm going to try some herbal
stuff which is supposed to lower blood pressure and see if it works any
better.
Something is affecting my body, but I don't know what. The rising blood
pressure and the weight gain without any change in life style indicates
something is going on. I don't think it's just old age.
