For some reason, it seems amazing to me that I started the day in SJ and am now in Detroit, never mind the fact that I've traveled here before.

BTW, I flew through DFW and thought of the Dallas LJers. It was so hot that you could feel the heat through the jetway. How long have you been having a heat wave?

Very, very tired and babbling. Good night.

Everything about this trip has gone incredibly smoothly. I even was ready five minutes before the cab was supposed to get there, although the cab was ten minutes late, and I had a moment of wondering what I'd do if he didn't show up.

The only thing is that I didn't get as much work done on Saturday as I would have liked. However, I decided to try to fix the laptop that had half an operating system, and lo and behold, the recovery CD worked! It's now fully operational running Windows 98, and I'll never install Windows ME on it again. I've got it with me, and plan to spend a quiet day catching up on work. I love having the ability to work from different places.

I also haven't had an OCD symptom since we took off from San Jose (except for one moment on the plane). Very, very interesting. It leaves me with a dilemma about whether I should take the Prozac or not, though I suppose that I should build up the drug in my system for when I come back. (I skipped yesterday because I experienced more side effects on Saturday that would be tough to deal with on a plane.) Right now I feel perfectly fine. Maybe I just need to move-;)

Slowly catching up on LJ.

My mom's dog is staring at me with rapt attention as I eat-;)

My mom had another suggestion of a place that I should check out: Columbus, Ohio. No, I'm not kidding. Read about Columbus at "Find Your Spot".

Addendum: Read Rough Guide's entry about Columbus. Sounds like a place that I should check out.

Or Madison, Wisconsin or Iowa City.

I'd have to get used to snow again in all these places through-;)

Addendum: A Chicagoan visits Iowa City.

I have a real yen to get lost off of the beaten path.

Hmm, I wonder if a degree in instructional technology would be useful in a college town. (There's some irony because people at my last job were encouraging me to get a degree in it.)

More food for thought....
