Ready to roll
Oct. 26th, 2001 02:33 amOkay, I'm packed and have a list of things to do before I leave tomorrow.
I didn't realize that I had the B52s on tape. Excellent. I must be nuts, but I spent a lot of the evening reviewing my tape collection and taping (and listening to) albums that I decided that I had to have for the trip.
Yes, I said "tape". My car doesn't have a CD player. Or air conditioning. Or cruise control-;)
One of the tapes that I'm bringing has two of my favorite driving songs: "Angels" (David Byrne) and "Steam" (Peter Gabriel). I guess I'll save that tape for I-5, which is a north-south interstate that people seem to think is the Autobahn. When I drove it down to L.A., most people were passing me--and I was going 80 MPH.
What are your favorite driving songs?
I was havin' this out-of-body experience
Saw these cosmic beings
Everywhere I went up there, they were shakin' their cosmic things
Like someone gave ya a wild goose, or a freight train with
A loose caboose
You better shake your... honeybuns! Shake your honeybuns!
