The high point of the trip
Nov. 17th, 2001 12:44 amWe're back in Detroit.
We had a bit of an adventure on the way back. A while ago, I became interested in the Highpointer's Club, which consists of people who visit the highest point in each state. Visiting the less lethal spots sounded really interesting. However, I never did anything about it.
I happened to notice that Ohio's high point was not very far from Columbus. So I asked my mom if she would mind taking a detour, and she said sure.
We got lost getting out of Columbus. Either Yahoo's directions skipped a step, or I skipped a step in writing them down. After we got on the highway, it was a quick, smooth trip. We overshot the place that is on the hill (the "Ohio Hi Point Career Center"), but turned around and came back.
The Center has signs pointing towards the high point, but the high point itself isn't labeled. You have to be familiar with the site to find it. (Let's hear it for the internet!)
