Turning off of LJ?
Dec. 6th, 2001 03:12 pmI've been slowly turning off of LJ. I've had thoughts that I could write about, but haven't felt any inclination to write about them. I've been enjoying having the time to actually read books. Half the time when do I try to read and comment on my friends' page, I run into problems. For example. right now I can't get to my friends' page at all. With all the regularly scheduled aggravation in the world, who needs to look for it? I don't know if I just need a break from LJ or if I need to leave. We'll see.
I've started studying Java, and am starting to realize what a huge task that learning it is going to be. Also, our condo complex is starting seismic renovations (the same thing as at Rune's complex), and my building is part of the first set of buildings, which will be worked on from the beginning of January through April. Among other things, I'll need to get everything off the walls in my garage--and all three walls are stacked to the ceiling with stuff right now. I was planning to go to Portland in late December (I gave up on the idea of Austin for various reasons), but now I'm wondering if I should just stay home and keep working. If I don't have a job yet, going out of town when they're doing the work sounds like a good plan. I'll have to board Random anyway.
