The circadian challenge
Jan. 21st, 2002 12:28 amI saw A Beautiful Mind last night, and want to write about it, but I'm surprisingly sleepy right now. This is a good thing because I (probably) have exactly one week to switch from going to sleep around 5 AM to going to sleep around midnight. I can't stay up all night to switch, either, because lack of sleep can trigger mania. I'm going to have to really leverage sleeping pills even though I don't like them.
My light box, which should help me wake up, is scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Also, I bought a dawn simulator in which you can plug up to 400 watts of light. (I have a small dawn simulator that I consistently sleep through.) I'm going to get and plug in a cheap halogen lamp, and possibly a desk lamp that will shine on my face. The more obnoxious appliances to wake me up, the better.
Hmm, I probably won't write about the movie tomorrow because I have a doctor's appointment and bipolar class. Sometime, anyway.
