Living dangerously
Apr. 6th, 2002 01:10 amI've decided to look at cats this weekend even though I'm not quite ready to adopt. (Yeah, I really had to twist my arm.) As much as is possible, I really want to make a rational decision based on how I think that the cat's personality will mix with Random's and mine, rather than how cute the cat is or because I want to rescue it. I think that looking at a lot of cats in rapid succession will help.
Of course, the danger is that I'll fall in love with a cat and ignore the good judgement of the previous paragraph. The shelter and rescue people too will no doubt encourage me to adopt on the spot. I'm the type of adopter that they're looking for: have lived with cats all my life and like them, have a cat, am a so-called mature adult, own my own place, and the like. Anyway, place your bets now as to whether I'll come home with a cat this weekend or not.
It promises to be a busy weekend. As well as the cat trips, I definitely need to finish my taxes. I'd like to work on dejunking the home office. I have a few things to finish up for work. (I faded out near the end of the day, so I decided to bring work home rather than sit there and be unproductive.)
And I'm really tired now, so I'm going to sleep soon. Apparently setting my alarm earlier because of the construction work has re-set my circadian rhythm somewhat. I start to fade out around midnight. (Of course, the time change on Sunday will negate some of the effect. Oh well.)
