Random musings

Harlee is still resolutely staying under the bed. However, she did eat a little yesterday, and I heard her using the litter box last night, so she's probably okay. I've been trying to tempt her with moist food today, but so far, she hasn't touched it. It might be nap time for her.

Speaking of musings, Muse might be the right name for her. She certainly is as elusive, capricious, and compelling as one.

I've been mulling over how I might be able to do an a day in my life entry. I can't take pictures at work for security reasons, so that would leave a huge gap in my day. I could do a weekend sometime. I had been thinking that whenever I introduce Harlee to Random might be an interesting day to do. My other challenge is that I don't have a timer on my digital camera. I could grab some shots with the web cam. Or find someone to follow me around -;)

On tap for today:

• Review my taxes and come up with a payment schedule
  
• Finish up some stuff for work (while I did work for a while last night, I was distracted)
  
• Some laundry
  
• Run to WalMart and grocery store
  

Now I'm starting to worry

Harlee was in trouble. She wedged herself behind one of my dressers and got stuck. This afternoon, I happened to notice that my clock was unplugged, so I went to plug it back in, and there she was. My best guess is that she wedged herself in there last night because I vaguely remember hearing her scraping along the wall after I heard her in the litter box.

So I moved the dresser. Eventually she realized that she could turn around and did. I offered her some food, and she hesitated, but then she dove under the bed. Then, to my surprise, she headed in the direction of the bathroom. I thought "Oh good. She's starting to explore," but then she hid behind the toilet. Eventually she went back under the bed, I think. I can't see her under there, but there's enough stuff there to make it possible to hide. I just hope she hasn't gotten herself stuck somewhere again.

I'm thinking of cleaning out my home office and moving her there. Originally, I didn't want to put her there because it's Random's spot. However, I think she needs to be somewhere in which I don't go very often. I could use the laptop in the living room for internet access, and just go in to feed her. Moving her will be a challenging trick.

First things first: I need to add cleaning out the home office to my list, and get cracking on my list. So far, I've accomplished invisible item # 1: take a nap.
