Yeah, I'm here
May. 12th, 2002 04:01 pmIt's been a crazy week, with more to come. I have a deadline at the end of the month on a project that I just jumped on a couple of weeks ago. I still don't have all the information I need, although I hope to get it on Monday. In other words, it's kind of a mess. I also haven't been feeling well; I can't tell if it's the flu that's been going around or if it's a medication reaction. And finally, my ex-husband and I never legally got divorced (it's a long story), and I asked that we push the paperwork through this year for tax reasons. We need to file by June 30 for the divorce to go through this year. So we've been working on all the financial forms, which are like the tax forms from Hell.
So that's where I've been. Busy.
On a brighter note, I now have a small garden growing on my patio. I think that some of the plants have grown since I got them! I'll post a couple of pictures of it later because my SmartCard reader is in the home office with Harlee, behind three baby gates.
Harlee is still hiding under the couch most of the time. I noticed that Random and Harlee would sit on other sides of the closed door from each other, so I decided to put up baby gates and leave the door open all the time. They've had some nose-to-nose time. Random hisses, but I don't think that it's serious. However, when Harlee catches the slightest glimpse of me, she hides. I'm not sure what to do about that. I've thought about putting her in the second bathroom, where there aren't many places to hide, or putting her in a cat kennel, but I hate to put her in such a small space. I also don't know how I'd get her in there. I don't know how to trap her because she won't eat when I'm around.
And I know it's crazy, but I'm looking at other cats. The other cat that I thought about adopting has been adopted. However, I found a listing for another cat who's really cute and likes both other cats and people. I have to think about it. I should be able to put a new cat in with Harlee without territorial issues. Maybe a new cat would help bring her out (though I'd have to want the new cat for herself, not just as a bridge to Harlee).
I probably won't be updating very often. Besides being busy, I haven't felt any inclination to update. I don't have the time to make this journal friends-only right now, and I don't feel up to dealing with my colleagues reading it either.
