What a week.

I didn't get a single thing done at home during the week. Too busy working late, or collapsing. By mid-week, I was so exhausted that I needed to lie down on the floor of my office for a while. (At first, I thought that was a medication side-effect. Everything's a medication side-effect. Our last earthquake was caused by my medication. Okay, maybe not. Actually, I think that some of the exhaustion was caused by perimenopausal symptoms. I keep forgetting that they're a factor too. Aging is a pain in the butt-;))

Anyway, I decided to skip the water garden tour this weekend. Napping and working on my living room sounded like a better plan. And then, of course, Harlee let herself out.

I did accomplish one thing this weekend. I gave away my patio furniture. I posted flyers across the complex, and a younger woman and her roommate took the set. They're a lot more likely to have parties and use the furniture, so I'm happy. It's going to take a while to get used to it not being there though. After the roofing work and patio resurfacing, I plan to get a small bistro set. And a lot more plants.

It's really cool to have Harlee out. It's strange that her favorite spots are Chaos' favorite spots; I keep doing a doubletake. However, she keeps trying to follow me out the front door. I've now put a squirt bottle right by the door. I think that's she trying to follow me rather than trying to get out, but I'm not sure. She's fascinated by doors. Tomorrow, I'm going to get an extra tag made up that says that she's an indoor cat and has my phone number. (She's already wearing a tag from the shelter.)

Random is tolerating Harlee, but doesn't want as much togetherness as she wants. I'm considering getting a third cat again, but I'm torn about which one.

I've been keeping half-an-eye on [livejournal.com profile] bandicoot's Rocki. My concern is that she's so young, and this place is not exactly kitten-proof. (Not even close.) Also, I'll be putting in a fair amount of overtime this summer, which is not a good scenario for bringing up a kitten. Part of the reason that I want multiple cats is so that they'll keep each other company while I'm working. She also looks somewhat like Chaos, although that bothers me less than it would have in the past. On the other hand, she needs a home, and I feel like I'd be doing a good deed by adopting her.

The shelter from which I adopted Harlee has a cat (Peanut Butter) that sounds like a clone of Harlee in personality. She loves other cats. She even looks a little like Harlee: same tortoiseshell markings, without the calico and white markings. Also, she's about the same age as Harlee. Ideally, those two would keep each other company, and Random could interact with them as much or as little as he wanted. On the other hand, he'd be outnumbered-;)

There's one more cat (Sugar) who I think is really cute, but she's not much older than Rocki. I like her yellow and blue eyes. The fact that she's calm is a point in her favor.

Chances are that I'll wind up adopting Peanut Butter, or at least asking about her.
