I'm trying to decide what to do this weekend (now that it's a third over). There are a lot of things that it would be nice to do, but nothing that I obviously should do. I collapsed last night and today (15 hours of sleep between last night and a nap this afternoon). I'm debating whether I should go to Tapestry in Talent, the big arts festival in downtown S.J., or not. I've gotten some really nice things there. On the other hand, I don't really need more things. Perhaps I could take the light rail, which would limit the amount of stuff that I could bring back.

I need to spend time working with Nima and Random, which is important. I also have stuff that I could do around here. I also need to make up some work time because I first overslept and then left the laptop at home, so I had to go back home and get it (:

I'm having a really tough time prioritizing.

The car is fixed, for what it's worth. The roofing work on my place starts next Tuesday. All I have to do is move some plants, but I also have to leave by 8 AM or park on the street because my garage will be blocked. Hopefully the cats won't be too freaked by the noise.

I decided that I needed to do something frivolous this weekend, so I did go to the Tapestry Arts Festival today. I found a plaque with a Tennessee Williams quote that I liked:

The violets in the mountains
Have broken the rocks

I really like the artist's work. I wish that she had a web site.

I also hesitated over some Chinese calligraphy that stood for perseverance, but managed to resist. Same idea as the plaque, really. I also enjoyed quotes by Hewlett and Packard on The Tech museum, which I could have written down for free, but didn't. (The quotes aren't on The Tech's website, drat.)

I ran out of steam appallingly quickly, and stopped to get a banana milkshake. It tasted wonderful, but it didn't sit well at all. I thought that was because of all the sugar in the milkshake (I can't drink non-diet carbonated beverages because they upset my stomach. Seriously.), so I went off to get some solid food. It didn't help. Neither did food several hours later. My stomach is still upset right now. So either I'm coming down with something, I have a mild case of food poisoning, or I dehydrated myself and am having a lithium reaction. If I'm coming down with something, that would explain the exhaustion, earaches, and sore throat of the last couple of days. So, we'll see. I'm probably going to sleep soon and try to sleep it off.

I forgot that WorldCon was downtown as well as the arts festival. When I passed by the S.J. Convention Center, I was wondering if my ex-husband and my former sister-in-law were there. It's entirely possible. It's amusing that we both could be in the same area without realizing it.

I also was thinking about how much San Jose has really become my home, but I suppose that's a topic for another time.
