Beware strange cats bearing gifts
Sep. 26th, 2002 12:51 amWhen I got up this morning, I found a dead lizard lying on my living room carpet. My guess is that Harlee picked it up in her mouth, shook it, and threw it. I've seen her do such a maneuver with her toy mouse, but I never thought about how effective it could be to kill a creature.
I have no idea how the lizard got into my condo. However, I've been finding more creepy critters since I started growing the plants on my patio. Apparently my "garden" is too convincing as a garden. Probably just as well that Harlee's on the prowl. (I've told her that she's violating the Cat Code by actually being useful.)
Unfortunately, it was left to me to dispose of it. Well, Random looked like he wanted to dispose of it as breakfast, but I chased him away with the squirt bottle. I have a mild phobia about dead creatures (except for bugs). I can handle live lizards or mice, but dead ones...yuck. The only way I was able to get rid of him was by realizing that if I didn't, he would still be there.
Did I say yuck?
Otherwise, I think that the long hours when I was shipping first triggered mild mania, which has evolved into mild depression. All I want to do is sleep. I'm really tired. Maybe I'll shake it off as I catch up on my sleep.
