I did go see LOTR. When I had dinner at Denny's on the way to the movie, the waiter was really neat. He was younger and determined to do a good job. (When one table asked for extra napkins, he brought some for every table. He also was wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.) I told him that I was in a bit of a hurry, so he put my order in quickly and (I suspect) mentioned that to the cook because I got my order fast. That's one time that I was glad that there is a tipping system so that I could give him a generous tip.

I didn't get into the movie as much as last time, but I'm glad that I saw it. I'm wondering, though, why they didn't set the ladders on fire during the siege of Helm's Deep? I'm also wondering how Aragorn will resolve his divided loyalties.

I opened presents when I got home. I can't believe it--a while back on my journal, I briefly mentioned that I had an impulse to get a stuffed penguin at WalMart. Well, my mom somehow found the same penguin and gave it to me. He's currently guarding my purse and scaring the hell out of Harlee. She also got me some beautiful blank books. My aunt and uncle gave me an Atomic alarm clock (one that syncs up with the U.S. Government's Atomic Clock). The cats are merrily creating havoc with the toys that my mom sent them. (Mom, in case I forget to tell you, the little mice were a big hit with all three of them.) Hmm, maybe I should have given them their toys after I got up in the morning-;) Nonetheless, I'm going to sleep now despite the havoc.

On the agenda for tomorrow: sleep in, take a nap after breakfast, and go see About Schmidt.
