Vitamin C. That's the ticket.
Aug. 9th, 2003 03:34 pmI received the check from the loan and duly deposited it in the bank. It was really weird running around with almost half a year's salary in my purse. The people at the bank asked me "if I was going to buy a Mercedes". Uh, no. Try a Honda Civic -;) I also got an unsolicited call from the bank noting the large amount of money in my account, and telling me that they have investment accounts. I think that I'll be happier when more of the money is spent. I am worrying about the money a little bit--with some cause because my debit card is linked to my account--but I don't want to transfer the money into savings if I'd have to transfer it right back again.
Now I'm thinking that I should at least see if a dealer has the Honda Civic that I want right now. They're having their clearance sale. One of the dealers has multiple cars that seem like what I want, so maybe I could get a good discount.
I'm not sure how to play things. I had planned to try to rent a Civic this weekend, but I'm not feeling well, so I decided to stick close to home and rest. (Something's going around at work; a few of us have had sore throats and felt under the weather.) Because I'm not feeling well, I'm dithering about what to do. I like the idea of taking an extended test drive by renting a car, but that approach will take more time. I'm afraid that because the Mazda is scratched up, that they'll send someone with me on a test drive. I could cope, but I'd have a tougher time concentrating on how the car feels to me. Also, I had thought about working through AAA to negotiate the price of the car, but I'm not sure if that's worth it if the car is already on sale. (Any thoughts?) I need to make decisions quickly because I'm going to Portland at the end of the month.
Writing this out helps some. I'm leaning toward just doing the test drive. Not sure about AAA.
I had more that I wanted to write about, but I want to lie down. Must. Sleep. Now.
