I've been reading a very interesting book for the Philosophy book group that I want to join. It's called Plato, not Prozac. Its basic premise is that some psychological problems are really philosophical problems. I have to agree with that because when I first got sick, I asked my therapist/case worker how to deal with the fact of having the illness (not how to manage the illness), and she said that she wasn't able to help me with that. But reconciling with the illness was the most important thing! At the time, I thought that maybe I needed a humanistic or existential psychologist to talk to. Maybe I needed a philosophical counselor. (Yes, there is such a thing.) Anyway, I'm really excited by this book and am looking forward to discussing it next Monday.

And yes, I went in search of churchly clothes. I have to mention that I'm one of the few women that I know who hates shopping for clothes. I usually know what I want, and would like to go directly to what I need, buy it, and then go shop for something interesting like books -;) I like shopping for shoes even less; I'll buy any type of shoes as long as it's black with no heel.

Anyway, I had a really tough time finding what I wanted at Macy's. I did find two (skirted) suits in summery colors (beige and pale gray) that looked really cute on, so I got them. (So much for not spending a lot of money, although they were on sale.) However, I really wanted a beige pantsuit for those times when I don't feel like wearing a skirt. (I think that the last time that I wore a skirt was, um, about four years ago. I live and work in jeans and blazers.) So tonight I went to Nordstrom in search of the pantsuit. They indeed did have what I wanted (not cheap, but quasi-affordable). Nordstrom is making a believer out of me. I usually don't go there, but they had some other items that I was looking for besides the pantsuit.
