Life n' stuff
Feb. 5th, 2006 10:21 pmI bit the bullet and bought new tires for the Honda. For once, I replaced them before I had a flat tire, although the slow leak on one of them might qualify as a flat. I had an image of having a blowout at 80 MPH on the more desolate stretch of CA-152, so that got me moving to get the tires replaced. Ouch on the expense, but now the car handles like a dream.
Unfortunately I had a girly-girl moment when the guy asked me what size tires I needed, and I said, "I have no idea!" He smiled. The guys were trying to get me to watch the Super Bowl, but I just kept on reading.
Now I need to bring the car in to be serviced next week: get the weatherstripping fixed, get my oil changed, and order a new passenger-side mirror. The only thing is that I need the car Tuesday (small talk class), Wednesday (doctor's appt.), and Thursday (Joshua Bell), so it'll have to be Friday. I'm hoping that I won't have a Fresno trip before then. Well, I can't go because I have other commitments. Anyway, it'll be like having a whole new car. Not, but it'll be better.
I finally found a salad that I like: a packaged salad with Bleu Cheese vinaigrette with Bleu Cheese crumbles, spring mix & baby spinach, chopped walnuts, and French Bread croutons. The only thing is that it's a larger salad then I can eat in one sitting. I'm starting to learn to listen to my body; when I eat the "right" foods, I feel light, and the "wrong" foods make me feel heavy. That doesn't always stop me from eating the wrong foods, but it's a start.
Still no word from my personal coach.
