Health clubs
Dec. 8th, 2008 12:52 amI was reading an article about unemployment in which it stated that if you're unemployed, you have no excuse for being out of shape. I see their point. No, I'm not going to walk in winter. So I'm investigating health clubs.
My mom belongs to one that doesn't have a pool, just some basic machines. (I'd need to find out if they have a leg press because that's a must.) It's a month-to-month contract.
I checked out two others on the Internet that have pools. I'd like to get back into swimming, but the thing is that I'm not sure I want to swim in winter. (They're indoor pools, but I'd have the extra two showers, wet hair, and so forth.) I'd also need to get a swimsuit that fits. I'd also like to get back into Pilates and try yoga. One has a lot of group yoga classes, but you have to take private or semi-private Pilates lessons. The other is a gym that I've gone to and liked. It has fewer group yoga classes, but has group Pilates classes. Both gyms are probably kind of expensive, but of course, they don't post their cost.
There's also a yoga class that's given by a community college.
Maybe the way to go is to go to my mom's gym for a few months, and if I stick with it, go to one of the other gyms in the spring.
I'm not ready to diet yet, but I should put that on my list.
I also am considering a new haircut. Two that caught my eye (the "after" pictures):
center-part bob
side-part bob
