Thank goodness for eyeglass repair kits
May. 31st, 2009 01:56 amWhen I was on my way out the door tonight, a screw on my eyeglasses came undone. I was fiddling around with it, trying to screw it back in without a screwdriver, and I lost it. I panicked because I needed my glasses to drive, so I wound up taping them shut. I looked really classy -;) (As it turned out, I had an old pair of glasses in the car, but I didn't want to use them because I wasn't sure how old the prescription was. Probably pretty old.)
I bought several eyeglass repair kits and brought them home. It took 45 minutes of futzing around, dropping tiny screws, trying to find a screw that fit, etc., to fix the glasses. They probably aren't as sturdy as they were with the original screw, so I need to get my act together and get new glasses. Bifocals. Yikes!
I was working on my financial aid form tonight. I need to get it done quickly because my application is already in. I had a sudden urge to cry; I think it's just nerves over whether I'll get into Wayne State, lack of a job, etc. I'm a little too wired to sleep, which isn't good. Maybe I'll read for a while.
