Nima

We're going to lose Nima (one of my cats). A couple of weeks ago, right before "Snopocolypse," Nima stopped eating. I already had been worried because she was very thin, and drinking a lot of water, so I wasn't surprised that she was diagnosed with kidney problems. The vet hospitalized her for a couple of days on an IV, and then I took her home. They started her on subcutaneous fields the following Monday. Today, they did another blood test, and her kidneys are shutting down. The vet thinks that she might have kidney cancer because she has deteriorated so quickly. We're keeping her at home while she's still eating and interested in what's going on and not vomiting. I had a feeling that something like this would happen when she first got sick. I'm still in a state of shock though.

Harlee (my other cat) is very upset about everything that's been going on (Nima has been calmer), so I've been giving her a lot of reassurance too.
