Murphy was an optimist
Dec. 4th, 2011 08:04 pmI'm feeling like a big loser today. Last night, I was trying on a jacket in front of a full-length mirror in a closet downstairs. Apparently I shut Zara in the closet. While she was in there, she destroyed some of my mom's photos. I really need to find a job and move the cats out of here. I didn't really have a lot of problems with my cats destroying stuff when I was living on my own (well, except for Chaos, the Destructo Cat).
I took Harlee to the vet yesterday for her blood test. She wails the whole time, which rattles my nerves a bit. Another customer at the vet asked if she was in pain -;) I told her, "No, she's just upset." They gave me two vials for fecal tests for both cats. Sometime between yesterday and today, I managed to lose one of the vials. Zara needs to go to the vet too, but I don't know when I'll have time. After I get back from Washington DC, I'll be working 40 hours because my boss is taking vacation time. (And I'll also have to figure out when I can work on my internship.) And then it's the holidays.
My mom had to borrow my car because the power steering on her car isn't working. When she pulled out, I noticed that a headlight is out. I'm leaving for Washington, DC on Wednesday. My plan is to take the car in on Tuesday morning locally and walk home because I need to pack, which I planned to do Monday night. (Well, I have a lot of the items that aren't clothes packed already.) I'm working on Monday afternoon-evening and Tuesday evening. At least my flight on Wednesday is at 3PM.
I seem to be missing stuff that I should catch on my internship (although the person with whom I'm working still says that I'm doing a good job). I need to doublecheck everything.
My dad wrote me and said that he thought that there would be 12 years of recession, and that I should save money. My mom and I were talking about going to Orlando, FL over New Year's. I suppose that we probably shouldn't go. The thing is that I don't know how often we'll be able to travel together after I move out (although she's retired now, which will help). We talked about traveling together for years, but it never happened until I moved out here. This trip is another trip that we've talked about for years.
It'll be good to get out of town and clear my head.
Anyway, I should work on my internship. And I also need to mend a blazer hem that has come down. Etc.
