My Mom's PT Cruiser is falling apart. She's been looking for a car, and I've been going with her. We both are interested in the same type of car--a small car with a lot of cargo room--so shopping with her is also shopping for my future car (although it will be a while before I can afford a new car).
The first car that we looked at was the Honda Fit. It's a cute, fun little car. It's a little underpowered compared to my Civic, but it turns on a dime. The cargo space is large considering the size of the car, and you can configure the seats several different ways depending on what you want to haul.
Then we went to the Hyundai dealer. We looked at the Accent, but my mom didn't like the visibility. Then we tried the Elantra. It's not the type of car either of us would generally look at--it's more of a wagon--but it has a lot of cargo room, the instrument panel is very easy on the eyes (blue light), and it has heated seats, which I wouldn't haven't thought that I would want, but they are very nice.
Then we went to the Kia dealer. We poked around the Soul. My mom wasn't interested in it, but I might check it out whenever I'm actually looking. Then we tried the Rio. It was okay, but neither of us was taken by it.
My mom is fairly certain that she'll get the Honda Fit. It'll be strange to have a new car in the driveway.
