In transit

I'm stopped at a rest stop somewhere between Rantoul and Kankakee. I knew that I was going to drive into a storm, and I sure did. I'm hoping that the rain will let up, but not so far.

 

I'm having a weird flashback to college. The cats and I are in a car loaded up with my most important possessions, although I can still see out my windows, so it isn't *that* packed. I've been listening to 80's (?) music to keep me awake. Roxy Music, anyone? And I just had a lovely, nutritious snack of cheese popcorn.

 

The cats are being stoic (with the help of a sedative), although Harlee let out a very indignant meow when I checked on her. The good thing about the rain is that I don't have to worry about the interior of the car being hot when I stop.

 

The rain has stopped, so I should take off.

Scary epic journey

I just had one of the scariest drives of my life. Rain was coming down in buckets, and I couldn't see the road very well. I'm just over the border into Michigan. When I pulled off, the parking lot lights went out, and everyone who was parked was sitting there with their lights on. The lights have come back on, and the rain has let up, but I'm waiting to see if the rain stays light. So I'm playing with my smartphone -;) The cats are NOT HAPPY, and are telling me so.
