Pioneer Woman -;)
Jan. 3rd, 2014 12:19 amI went out in the 6 degree F weather (down to 3 degrees by the time I got home) to go to Lowe's and Meijer and to get gas. Now is the time to go shopping because the stores are deserted. (All the sane people are staying warm at home.) I'm continuing to love the car. It started well despite the cold. (Good practice for Monday, when they're predicting a high of -8. I keep looking at different weather sites, hoping that one of them will say something different.) The car has everything I want. When I picked it up at the car dealer, I discovered that it had map lights (yes!!!). Tonight, I was eyeing floor mats at Meijer, to discover that it already has floor mats that I didn't notice.
The one thing that it doesn't have is wiper fluid. I'm hoping that the reservoir is empty rather than the fluid is frozen. If it is frozen, I'm planning tomorrow to drive to Springfield and then to Jacksonville, and I could stop in Springfield (after running the engine for an hour and a half), buy a turkey baster to get rid of the old fluid, and then replace the fluid with the stuff that won't freeze.
Somewhat to my surprise, I brought in everything from the car despite the cold except for the extra bricks. I almost had a heart attack outside because I thought that I heard Harlee meowing, but no, she was inside where she belongs. (And she thoroughly told me off for leaving. I told her that I needed to get food, but she was not impressed.) She's still hiding in the office closet when I leave, but she's hanging out more and more downstairs when I'm home.
I have a 10 percent off coupon at Home Depot. Any thoughts on what I could buy there that isn't hardware/home improvement stuff? I'm thinking of firewood (if they have it) and sidewalk salt. I also would like to get an extra Phillips screwdriver. An LED lantern would be good; I just bought one at Meijer, but one for each floor would be useful.
I have some cat and plant pictures that I'd like to post, but will wait until tomorrow because I need to get up at a decent hour for the trip to Jacksonville.
