The problem with my furnace is as follows: I re-light the pilot light, and it works until it shuts off when it hits the temperature at which the thermostat is set. When it goes back on, the pilot light is off. So I need to get up every couple of hours to deal with the furnace. The couple of hours is interrupted because I keep asking my voice-activated clock what the temperature is so that the pipes (and us) don't freeze. I'm fit to be tied. I'm going to call the maintenance people FIRST THING in the morning.

The furnace guys think that I'll need a new furnace because the downdrafts keep blowing the pilot light away from the thermocouple. (The thermocouple and gas valve are relatively new.) Until then, they think that it'll keep going out. But I barely got any sleep last night, and really need to get some sleep before work tomorrow. I don't know what to do. I guess the best thing would be to get to sleep really early so that I can get some sleep even if I have to wake up to light the damn pilot light. I'm also concerned about the cats. They're both behind gates in the bedrooms (Harlee is very unhappy), but they could get out, and these guys keep not closing the front door all he way, and it blows open. I guess the best answer there would be to close both bedroom doors, not just close the gates (which will make Harlee flip), although they could blow open if there's a draft. I'm really hitting the end of my rope here.

I need to eat lunch and then go outside to brush off/dig out the car. Maybe I'll try to get a little nap to make me feel less frazzled. (By the way, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.)
