Lincoln was shut down today too. The College President must be tearing his hair out over all the snow/cold days, but I'm glad that he canceled work today. The weather people were predicting a "snowpocalyse," and it wasn't that bad, but bad enough to take a while to clean up. The snow started in earnest in Lincoln a little after 1 PM yesterday. I had packed an overnight bag in case I got stranded in Lincoln, but when the snow started coming down in buckets, I grabbed my work laptop and drove back to Bloomington. The first part of the drive was nervewracking (I wonder how long it will take before I relax driving in snow again), but near Bloomington, there was a "bubble" of no snow. Bloomington didn't get a lot of snow yesterday. Lincoln got more, but I didn't think that they would cancel today. However, it snowed all night (and all morning through part of the afternoon), so a fair amount of snow accumulated (7.7 inches). Oh goody, I just checked Weather.com, and now there's a wind chill advisory. There is a picture being shared around Facebook that shows a grumpy wolf, with the caption, "The groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter...so I ate him." Sounds about right to me.
Harlee was watching me dig out the car today with an expression, "What strange thing are you doing, Mommy?"
I was assembling a new spinner rack for my rock CDs, only to find that it's missing a part. I e-mailed the manufacturer about it. I hope that they send the part quickly because I need to finish assembling the rack in order to "finish" the living room. And I need to finish the living room in order to do Zumba in the living room (that being one form of exercise that doesn't require me going outside). Oh well.
I have a class in Champaign-Urbana tomorrow and Friday. It was postponed from Tuesday. I'm enjoying the fact that I've been getting regular "breaks" from the normal work week.
I should do a little homework, but I think that I'm going to get ready for bed. (Not that I have much "getting ready" to do because I lounged around in sweats all day.)
