Houses Revisited
May. 15th, 2014 08:55 pmTonight, I went to drive by the two houses in Lincoln that I previously mentioned, plus one that is halfway between the two in price range. The "incredibly cute, but expensive house" was perfect, exactly what I would want in a dream house. The "halfway in price" house was also really cute. It has hardwood floors and a deck, which I would enjoy, but it also is the smallest of the three houses. The "very cheap house" is nicer in person than in the picture, but it does need a good coat of paint (no surprises there). It doesn't have a garage, so I'd have to have one built. (I wonder what they'd do if I offered 20K instead of 25K. The house has been on the market for 100 days.)
I've been selling myself on living in Lincoln. It has quiet side streets with lots of trees, which I like. The houses are all different, and most of them are old. And people are quirky in their decorations of their house and their yard, which I also like. And of course, I would love to have a house (and a short commute).
The next step would be to see what kind of mortgage I could get because that would decide a lot of things.
