Fun and Games at the Vet
May. 17th, 2014 12:40 pmWell, I got the girls over to the vet today, after a bit of drama with Harlee when I tried to grab her in the living room, and she got away. She ran upstairs into her "safe" place in the office, which made things easier because I was able to close the gate, and grabbed her.
The upshot with Harlee is that her kidneys and other labs were okay (which I worry about because I've lost other cats to kidney problems around her age) except for the abnormal liver reading. The vet wants to get more information about the labs that have been run elsewhere to try to diagnose the liver reading before determining treatment for it. She said that if Harlee keeps on drinking extra water, they'll want to do a urine sample on her to rule out infection. She has an ear infection, and they gave her drops to put in her ears. And she got her shots.
The upshot with Zara is that the vet expressed her anal glands, thinking that they might be bothering her and that's why she's circling. If she keeps circling, she wants to give her an antiinflammatory shot. If that doesn't work, then they'll treat her for a neurological problem.
I really like the vet a lot. She was very patient with both girls, took time to get a full history on them from me, and explained things well to me. I've had really good luck with vets.
