Today was my big presentation that I had been working towards. The day started off with a bang when I overslept until 7, and had to be there at the workshop at 8:30. I got there five minutes early. Apparently I can move really fast when I have to!

The first, short presentation to everyone at the workshop went well. (The workshop was for faculty at the Normal campus.)

The second, longer breakout session was a bit of a fiasco. The plan was for me to demonstrate some search strategies for the library catalog, then the other librarian was going to demonstrate search strategies in databases, then I was going to talk about copyright, and then the other librarian was going to talk about upcoming library programming. So I launched into the first part of my presentation, and searches that worked a certain way on my computer the night before worked differently, and threw me. Then I ran into system problems. I finished and the other librarian started talking. Unlike me, he was making up his presentation as he went along, and he didn't run into problems, which was mildly annoying. And then he wouldn't stop talking, and ran out the clock, so I didn't get to do my copyright presentation, which was the part of my presentation that I spent the most time on. Afterward, he said, "I thought that you were done." Grrrr. I should be able to give my presentation at one of the upcoming faculty meetings, but it still was annoying.

I had originally planned to stick around to the end of the workshop so that people could pick up their library barcodes, but no one was picking them up. (There really wasn't time in the schedule.) I attended one session after our presentation, and it was interesting and gave me some ideas how we might get students more involved with the library. After that, I had planned to attend a session by the head of IT. (He and I have a slightly flirty thing going, but I really don't know anything about him. I get a kick out of him, anyway.) However, reading the agenda for his session, he was going to talk about stuff like how to log into the course management system, how to access e-mail, etc., which is information that I really don't need. I decided that it would be too weird to sit through a session that clearly was of no use to me, and the adrenaline was wearing off, and I was getting tired, so I left.

On the way back, I stopped at PetCo to pick up some grain-free wet food for Harlee. I'm really worried about her. Not only was she pooping in inappropriate places (I got her another litter box and put it in the bathroom, which solved the problem), but she's been sleeping all the time and picking at her food. So I tried giving her some of Zara's wet food, and she gobbled it right up, but that food isn't great for Harlee's IBS. So I bought her almost every grain-free food that PetCo had. I'm going to make an appointment to bring her to the vet next Saturday, and talk to the vet about food options for her, and have her checked out.

After talking to my mom when I got back, I took a "short" nap that turned into sleeping until 10. Now I'm wide awake, but eating something and taking my nighttime med should help me get back to sleep. I do have homework to do (I'm taking a continuing ed class), but I don't feel like working on it right now. Maybe if I go to sleep now, I can get up early and get stuff done. Oh, I want to post some stuff for sale on one of the Facebook garage sale sites, so maybe I'll do that. One of the things that I need to sell are tires. Does anyone know how I can tell what size they are?
