I finally found a place to get rid of the tires from the Honda. (I had snow tires that were on the Honda when it crashed, and these were the regular tires.) The catch was that it was in Joliet, a two-hour drive one way. So I got up early yesterday and drove to Joliet. Getting rid of the tires cost me $5 plus the cost of gas.

I had a vet appointment for Harlee mid-afternoon, and it took longer in Joliet than I had anticipated, so I got home ten minutes before I needed to go to the vet. I ran in, used the washroom, and grabbed Harlee, who happened to be in her little bed, which made her easy to grab. I was five minutes late. The vet was really good with her and thorough. He said that he didn't see anything wrong with her, and she looked good for 13 years old. He gave her a steroid shot to combat the diarrhea plus some probiotics to put in her food. The steroid shot has really helped; Harlee's back to acting like her normal self.

I had planned to go to Bloomington to meet some Meetup people and go to see the movie Wild, but I was too wiped out. I had warned them that I had a sick cat and might not make it, and they were nice about it. I still want to see Wild, so I made plans with another Meetup group for tomorrow.

I'm planning a quiet New Year's Eve staying home and unpacking. There was a Meetup in Bloomington for tonight, but it got canceled, which is probably just as well. I'm also trying to reach an appliance repair person to set up the washer and dryer on Friday or Saturday.

Anyone have exciting plans for New Year's Eve?
