The Art of Travel
Mar. 21st, 2015 05:48 pmThe Younique training session went well. The speakers were a mixed bag, but it was great to talk to other presenters. The only thing is that I rolled in very late, so I wound up staying an extra night to catch up on my sleep. The Ohio River had indeed flooded; you could see it pretty high up on the trees when I went over the river.
This week was a week of meetings. I presented to two classes, went to a budget hearing to defend our line items (I think that it went well, but we'll find out in August what our budget will be), and attended a faculty meeting. I've been really tired all week, culminating in sleeping in to 1 PM today. Not sure what to do about that.
I'm seriously considering staying at hostels during my San Francisco (library conference) and Chicago (Younique conference) trips this summer. I would save a ton of money by doing that, even getting a private room. I don't have a lot of extra cash to burn, so it might be a wise move. The S.F. hostel that I'm looking at even has laundry facilities, which would be a big help. It has a kitchen, so I could eat some meals in. And it's near Union Square, so it should be walking distance to Moscone Center.
Onwards to do my taxes!
