Zen and the Art of Packing
Jun. 20th, 2015 02:27 pmI'm going to have to take only one suitcase to S.F and do laundry periodically along the way. The problem is Amtrak and their limitations on luggage. I have a 17-inch laptop that I need to take because of my classes, and Amtrak considers a bag big enough to hold the laptop to be "luggage". I did find a laundromat a couple of blocks from my hotel. I know where there is one in San Jose. I should be able to do laundry at my dad's house.
However, I'm trying to pack for multiple types of weather. San Francisco is cold (55 today, and the prediction is for 60s and 70s while I'm there). Nevada is hot with temps up to 100. San Jose is in the middle. I need to bring short sleeves for San Jose and Nevada and long sleeves for S.F. I foresee a game of Tetris while I pack. I've decided to wear my lightest S.F. outfit on the plane. Maybe I could also wear it in San Jose after I do laundry.
I've decided to bring only a few shampoos, body wash, etc., and buy more as needed when I get there.
