Freeze Warning
Oct. 18th, 2015 12:15 amThere were freeze warnings last night and tonight. Quite a shock to the system, given that it was short-sleeve weather earlier this week. Right now, it's 34 degrees F. Blah. I had already planned to get new tires for my car today, but that added extra incentive. So now I'm technically ready for snow with the new tires, but so not ready emotionally for snow. It is supposed to warm up later in the week and be short-sleeve weather again. I think that I'm getting whiplash :)
Time for lots of hot tea, soup, and chili. And snuggling with warm cats.
Apparently the Library Director candidate is still negotiating the offer with my boss. However, my boss wants to replace the furniture in her office-to-be, so I get to clean out the office. I said wryly to the Head of Maintenance (who asked me to clean out the office) that I needed a new project. She laughed.
We held an event sponsored by the library earlier this week. It was a talk given by a ghosthunter and historian. it was an interesting talk, and people seemed to enjoy it, but we lost money on it. We have a list of things to do differently if we do it again, but this guy is so expensive that it's hard to make enough money to break even. I'll leave it up to the new Library Director if she wants to do it again.
I wish that I had something exciting and memorable to talk about, but it's just been everyday life. I hear some pasta calling me.
