I'm off of work for the rest of the week, which rocks. I started it off with a ZZZZ, not a bang, by sleeping from 7 PM last night to 9:30 AM this morning. (I did get up for a couple of hours in the middle.) At least, now I'm well rested to do stuff. On the docket for today is some laundry, and then running some errands to the post office, library, and the grocery store. (I'll bring something to read to the grocery store, although I have the New York Times on my phone.) I'm on UPS house arrest too. I hope that they come in the early afternoon because the post office closes at 4:30 PM and the library at 5 PM.
It seems to be technical difficulty day though. I cracked the plastic on my washer door, but I was able to fix it with duct tape. My bad knee was hurting as I went upstairs. (I really need to join the local gym, but I'm waiting until the beginning of the month, so that the monthly dues will come due right when I get paid. However, I do have a two-week pass. Hmm.)
I'm planning to stay home tomorrow. The original plan was for my mom to come down for Thanksgiving, but my aunt had major surgery early this week, so she's helping out. She'll come down on Friday. A friend invited me for Thanksgiving, but I've had so little time off that I want to stay home and get stuff done around here (plus my mom is coming, so I need to clean). I'll pick up my favorite pasta at the store as my Thanksgiving "treat".
I found some coffee that I like. It's a local Chicago brand, Papa Nicholas. I've been drinking their Vanilla Bean and Hazelnut Creme coffees. (Which reminds me, I want to stop into the local coffee store to see if they carry some of their other flavors.) I have limited counter space and plugs, but I used a power strip to permanently plug in the coffee maker and toaster, and I have canisters of coffee there, and a metallic bowl of tea and sweetener. I like how it looks, so that's inspiring me to work on the rest of the kitchen.
Whoops, I forgot to mention that the new Library Director started, and I like her. I think that we'll get along just fine (and I wasn't sure, based on the interview).
