Progress, of a Sort
Feb. 6th, 2016 06:05 pmDon't know why I've been so tired this week. I slept late on Wednesday, and had to scramble to get to work. Then Wednesday night, I had problems sleeping, and was a zombie the next day. Friday, I planned to come in early to talk to a professor about some books that I "weeded" (selected to withdraw), but overslept. As it turns out, he came in earlier than he said that he would, so I would have missed him anyway. He selected only around six books (out of around 150) from the weeded pile to go back on the shelves, so I'm calling that a win. Right now I'm weeding the Psychology section ,and I'm finding it much harder. We have a pretty good collection of classic works in psychology--that no one checks out of the library. In case of doubt, though, I'm keeping items.
I called the apartment management on Thursday, and got verbal permission to adopt another cat. I asked the Humane Society to e-mail me an application, which they did. However, they want a letter from my landlord giving me permission to adopt. I called the apartment manager on Friday and left a message, but got no answer. What I'm going to do is write a letter for the manager to sign, put it through the rent drop, and ask her to sign it on Monday. Then I'll run in the application. The manager at the Humane Society thought that it might be good for Zara to have a younger companion like Mimi, and I think so too.
The laugh of the day: I was at the Humane Society, and I was petting Mimi. A male cat, Dragon, saw me petting her, and came over and grabbed my leg and started nipping it. The woman with whom I was working said, "Typical guy" :)
I really don't know why I'm so freaking tired. I think that I'll take a nap and then go to the grocery store. And Harlee is summoning my presence. (Mimi's a talker too, so I'll have my very own feline chorus.)
