A College Shaken Up
Apr. 5th, 2016 01:17 amA student at the college died this weekend. At this point, we don't know why she died, but from some things administrators have said, they think that it might have been suicide. We had a sobering meeting with the head of the counseling services about how to tell if a student is in distress or might be thinking of suicide.
I survived a suicide attempt in high school. I know that this isn't my drama, but I'm feeling a little fragile and shaky. So I picked up some comfort food and plan to get a good night's sleep. The cats are providing comic relief, as per usual.
P.S. If someone says that suicide "is a permanent solution to a temporary problems," I swear that I'm going to smack them. That couldn't be more patronizing.
