I never made it out to run my errands. I slept until 8 PM, got up for a couple of hours, and went back to sleep. Woke up at 5:30 AM to Zara licking my face. Awww :) Maybe she thought that I was dead though.

Mimi was a little hysterical, so I gave her some lap time and had a lively conversation with her. I'd say something, and she'd say Mrrr-RAH. Then Harlee wanted attention, so I had snuggles and conversation with her. I realize that I must be a crazy cat lady if some of my more frequent conversations are with cats. But that's okay.

It's cold outside. The temperature is 68 degrees F inside downstairs, which is okay, but if it gets colder, I might have to turn on the heat. It was warm earlier in the week, so I had windows open upstairs, so I ran around closing them. The cats seem to think that the temp is okay--even Harlee, who is really thin, so I worry about her being cold. I'm the one who is cold. But I have a hot cup of tea steeping.

I suppose that I could throw myself together to run errands, but somehow it's too early and too cold. I'm going to do some stuff around here.

Believe it or not, I went back to sleep around 9:30 AM and slept until about 12:30 PM. Since then, I've been puttering without a lot of energy. I've done laundry, accomplishment of the indolent. And I did some dishes. I kept on checking CNN and the New York Times to find out about Hurricane Matthew. (The upshot: both Savannah and Charleston flooded and have some trees down, but nothing catastrophic.)

Mimi would be happy if I let her sit on my lap all day. She was sitting on my lap, and apparently there is a fly somewhere, and she did the prey chatter thing, but then she'd look around like "Where'd it go?" I told her that the fly wasn't going to wait around for her to decide to pounce. Useless! But pretty.

I've perked up a little. I need to make a grocery list, so that I can go out later. The no-knead bread cookbook has a recipe for a fortified sandwich loaf with wheat germ and honey, so I'd like to try that.

My aunt called me on Monday to tell me that my mom was in the hospital. She said that she'd talk to my mom on Tuesday and to call her back to find out how my mom was. My mom left a message on my phone on Tuesday, so I didn't call my aunt back. Now my aunt is bent out of shape because I didn't call back. My mom spent a lot of our phone conversation telling me that I needed to call my aunt back. Sheesh, this is like grade school. I don't have the time or energy to deal with this. And I'm getting a flaming headache.
