Oh, Good God
Nov. 29th, 2016 10:10 pmSomeone from my mom's hospital, Beaumont, tried calling me tonight, but didn't leave a message. I did have caller ID that said that the call was from Beaumont and gave a name. I tried calling back, but the switchboard operator said that there was no one by that name. I called my aunt, and she hadn't heard anything. She told me to call, get her room number, and call the floor and ask for the nurse. So I did, and the nurse said that my mom had had a transfusion earlier (planned) and was resting quietly. I also left a message on my mom's cell phone somewhere in there. (I talked to my mom later, and she seems to be doing well. She'll still be in the hospital for at least a couple more days though.)
My adrenaline has been going through the roof. Kind of funny though--I was exiting my phone app, and another app came up, telling me to take a deep breath. Good advice. I think that canceling out on my class tomorrow was a very good call. I'm having enough trouble coping as is. I was supposed to log on to online chat while all the calls were going on, and completely forgot until an hour later.
I was seriously considering going up to Chicago and taking the meditation class at Shambhala on Saturday, but I'm going to play it by ear, depending on how my mom is doing. I could use the distraction. But I might just collapse.
