Too Hot to Handle
May. 11th, 2017 12:41 amHmm. I was watching someone back up a truck with a U-Haul trailer. Took them several tries, but they finally got it. I wonder if they're going to load or unload after midnight, but they aren't close to my unit, and I don't care. Actually, I kind of like that Lincoln has night owls. Bloomington didn't.
I learned at work that the techies in our consortium can save me a lot of work during our conversion from Dewey Decimal to Library of Congress Classification this summer. Cool beans.
I've been looking into how to learn to play pool. A decent cue will cost me over $100. There is a school up in Rockford, about 2.5 hours from here, but it costs $500. Not happening any time soon.
Mimi has been working hard at ingratiating herself to me. When I flop down on the bed, she starts purring before I even pet her, and gives me kisses. Well, that's how I wound up with her in the first place. She seems to really like me. I've been able to break up some squabbles between her and Zara by telling her, "No". But she chased Zara out of the kitchen this morning. So I don't know. I don't have much time to find her a new place anyway because my presentation is rapidly coming up. I'm meeting with my co-presenter on Saturday to discuss our introduction to the presentation.
We had a "heavy" thunderstorm earlier, and it's very hot and humid. The cats are crashing out in puddles of fur.
I need to get up early to cover a lunch, so I'm not going to do a lot of cleaning tonight.
