Progress

Set up the Facebook page, Twitter page, and Instagram page for my blog site. I'm not setting up the blog until Monday though because I need to get the domain name for it.

Abort

Well, I was going to go to Moraine State Recreation Area today, but I got a late start. I overslept; apparently I set my alarm for 11 PM rather than AM. (It also explains why I overslept my nap the other day.) I was getting myself together to go, but decided that it was just too late, and I also wanted to eat lunch.

So I'm going to go to the gardens at the Ewing Cultural Center in Bloomington. It's a little silly because I need to go to Bloomington tomorrow to get Harlee's food, but I'll be in the area anyway.

I also need to make macaroni and cheese when I get home. And Lincoln's fireworks are tonight. Getting home earlier would be a good thing.

Abort Abort

I'm having some digestive issues, so I'm going to stick around Lincoln. Plus it doesn't really make sense to drive to Bloomington when I'll be there tomorrow. I want to make an early night so that I can get out early tomorrow.

I'm going to go see if I can find the giant covered wagon in Lincoln.

Kickapoo Creek Park

I did find the "world's largest covered wagon". There was even a sign pointing to it, but I never noticed it. I took some pictures for the blog. I also found out where the Postville Courthouse Historic Site was, but I'll write about it some other time. I don't want to flood the blog with stuff from Lincoln.

Then I decided to take a walk in Kickapoo Creek Park in Lincoln to get at least some walking in. I found the creek this time, and it is quiet and serene. I took some pictures.

I don't know if I'm going to the fireworks or not because it's so freaking humid out. But now I need to go make my macaroni and cheese for later.

I Give Up

I finished making my macaroni and cheese in time to gulp some down before the fireworks in Lincoln. I had printed off directions to the Park District center earlier. I threw myself together to go.

The directions were nowhere to be found.

I booted up my computer, but it takes forever. I got the directions printed off about the time that I planned to be there.

So I give up. I'm now planning to go to Bloomington's fireworks show on the 4th. I'll be in the area anyway because I'm planning to go to Moraine View Recreation Area that day. Some days, you just gotta say, "Whatever".

Mimi jumped when they set off test fireworks, so it'll be good for her if I'm home while they're going off. Harlee and Zara seem pretty blasé.
