Everything Can Wait Until Morning. Maybe Not.

I still have some stuff that I need to hand-carry at the old place: clothes, electronics, my dishes, and the like. I intended to get up very early before a conference call that I had this morning to go over to get stuff. I was too tired, and went back to sleep after breakfast. I did get one load before work.

I was really fried today. Kept yawning. It took me three times to run a credit card when I ran to get some supplies for work. I left a note for the apartment managers that said that I needed the weekend to finish up, grabbed a load of stuff, and went home.

I intended to eat, feed the cats, and go promptly to bed. I was eating dinner, when I saw a cat go by--wait a minute, that's Harlee (who is supposed to stay in her room). I lured her back in her room, fed her, and put stuff in front of the spots in the gate that she could get through. Then she started banging the gate. I finally shut the door to the room, and she seems to have quieted down. Her agitation worked up Mimi and Zara, who have been getting along surprisingly well, and I didn't want them to get into a fight.

Oy. So much for quietly winding down to go to sleep.

Comcast had told me to take their equipment with me when I moved, but now they're calling me to return the equipment. So I need to call them, but not until the morning.

Bam!!

I'm living in a duplex. My bedroom is right next to the door for the other unit. When the neighbors leave, the motion-sensor light fills the room with light, and the screen door goes "Bam!", waking me up. Annoying because I was going to sleep in and get rid of the fatigue. I decided to get up and eat breakfast.

Zara hasn't been sleeping with me because I'm not shutting her in the bedroom at night. Mimi, who always has wanted into the bedroom at night, has been sleeping with me, at least until I turn over and bonk her. It'll be interesting to see how the New World Cat Order shakes out.

Both Mimi and Zara use the window in the bedroom to check the outside world (which is why the neighbor's flood light fills the bedroom because I leave the blinds open for the girls).

Zara is showing great interest in the back door, so I'm resigned that she'll get out sometime. It was raining this morning, so maybe I should have let her get out.
