Tiny Kitty Brains

Mimi got outside this morning. Luckily, she doesn't move very fast, and she's declawed, so she can't scratch me, so I got her back inside. Then she was sitting by the door, trying to figure out how to open it. I put her in "time-out" in the bedroom so that I didn't have to deal with her trying to get out. I let her out of the bedroom when I left for work, and by that time, she had forgotten that she wanted to go outside. Let's hear it for tiny kitty brains! I've been blocking the door with my umbrella when I go in. People might wonder why I'm carrying an umbrella when the sun finally comes out, but it looks like we might never see the sun again.

Another gray day. I suffer from seasonal depression on top of my normal depression, so I'm going into the hole. I've been yawning a lot all day even though I got a good night's sleep.

I'm trying to avoid turning the heat on, but I don't know how long that will last. I don't know if I mentioned that the weather finally turned cold (that is, 50s F) yesterday. About time. It's tea weather. And snuggly cats weather.

North Bay Fires

According to the San Jose Mercury News, close to 3000 homes were destroyed in Santa Rosa. That's mind-boggling. And tragic. One of the homes that was destroyed was Charles Schulz's home. His widow had to evacuate. The Peanuts Museum (which I've been to) was untouched though.
