Better Today

Got up early. Fed myself and did kitty maintenance. Threw in a load of laundry.

Took a nap and overslept due to a very intense dream. Now I just ate lunch. The area where the dentist removed the tooth feels fine. Yesterday, I had a little pain, for which I took generic Tylenol. Today, nothing. I even ate a slice of pizza, and it was fine.

I think that I need a cup of coffee. I wrote out a to-do list, so I need to get cracking after I finish my coffee.

Added: Whipped through paying my monthly bills while drinking my coffee. Love online payments!

We Have a Living Room. Well, the Futon, Anyway

Harlee was complaining loudly, and I decided that she must be lonely. So I decided to take the plastic off of the futon so that we could sit there together. I couldn't get all the plastic off because there's some on the underside for which I need to open the futon, and there isn't enough room. But the rest is off. I put the cover, blanket, and some pillows on it, same as it always was.

Harlee: This is different. I don't like it.

Me: Harlee, you used to sleep all day long on it.

The cover is coated in cat fur, and really needs to be washed, but I'll need to take it to the laundromat, I think (?) But it should smell good to Harlee.

I want to get cable set up before Mom comes here so that she can watch CNN.

Mostly Clean Carpet

I washed the carpet in the living room, hall, and my bedroom. I'll need to do the living room again next weekend because I got the hang of using the carpet cleaner after I finished the living room. I'll see what it looks like when it's dry, but it seems to have helped.

I also cleaned most of the bathroom. I'm not going to get to wash the floor tonight, but I'll do it tomorrow morning if I can get up the energy. Oh, I also figured out what part I need to wash floors with the carpet cleaner. I don't have it (I might have thrown it out when I unpacked the cleaner), so I ordered it. With all these tools, I might be able to keep the place clean by myself.

The cats, needless to say, highly disapprove of all this cleaning. Zara was lying on the living room futon earlier though, so one of them approves of the futon at least.

Mom Report

I went to call Mom at 9 PM when I realized that we were supposed to talk last night because she was going to be out tonight. Oops. I left a message, and went to finish cleaning the bathroom. Then my mom called. I called her back, and didn't get an answer. I tried a couple of times, but got an answering machine. Then, at 10 PM, she called me back. She had been on the phone with my aunt.

She had a good time when she was out tonight. An art museum and a library had a Christmas shindig. She sounds good.

I'm fed up with my cell phone. It's been rapidly approaching its end of service. It doesn't hold a charge very long. And it rebooted itself when I was trying to call my mom. I was looking at refurbished LG X Venture phones on eBay. I found one that looks good, but I'm wincing a little over spending the money. But it would be helpful to have a decent phone.

Added: I did get the phone. I'm going to seriously eat down the food that I have to save money. I have some Beef Stroganoff Hamburger Helper and a frozen pound of lean ground beef. I just put the ground beef in the refrigerator to thaw.
