Austin, Here I Come!
Jan. 11th, 2018 11:06 pmI read somewhere that if you get into a routine and get enough sleep, you'll wake up before your alarm goes off. I thought, "Bloody ha!" But I've been doing it a fair amount of the time.
Harlee's been eating her limited-ingredient food, so I'm going to order more. She still is having accidents though. Need to talk to the vet.
The weather has been wacky. Today, it was warm enough to not need a jacket. Tonight, it's in the teens. And we had some freezing rain--for a while, it was freezing as soon as it hit my windshield--but it stopped. The college canceled all evening classes on both campuses. Ah, the joys of living in the ice belt. At least, it wasn't too bad. And it ended early.
I received approval to go to the Very Expensive Conference in Austin in March, and booked my flight, hotel, and registration. I guess that they must like me here to spend this amount of money. I might never get to this conference again because it's so pricey. I'm stoked. I liked Austin when I was there a few years ago.
I picked up some books at the public library during dinner, and I brought one book on frugal living into work because I knew that I'd be giving the front desk worker breaks. It had cinnamon toast as a suggested snack, and I like to bring in something to work to nosh on. That would be cheap and filling (not great nutrition, but I'm not worrying about that right now).
Hey, my four-day weekend is starting! And I don't have to get up early tomorrow!
The movie about Churchill (Darkest Hour) is now at the local movie theater. I suppose that the truly frugal thing to do would be to wait until I can see it on the Roku, but I might go. The local theater is cheaper than seeing a movie in Springfield or Bloomington.
