Christmas Day
Dec. 25th, 2019 09:53 pmWe got my aunt and Mom off to church on time. Then we had the real challenge: getting the Christmas presents and my mom's thrifting finds into the car. We made it, and I even had a spot to sit on. (Mom was threatening to tie me to the roof of the car.)
Mom got drowsy on the trip back and started to go off of the road. I yelled, and she straightened out. We stopped for a little while, and now we're stopped in the usual break spot. Mom dozed while I got something to eat.
We made it back okay, although Mom had some problems following my directions through the "back door" to my place. Then Mom fell coming into the house. She's okay, but one finger is very bruised, and she's putting an ice pack on it. Mom needs sleep, stat. Mom is feeling like she's constantly overextended. She'll get some rest here, but in the future, we talked about her taking the train and me driving up so that we'll have a car.
The cats were very happy to see me. Zara has found a nest in one of Mom's bags with her coat thrown over the top. Mimi has been hanging out on my lap.
We ran out to Steak and Shake for a bite. Now Mom is lying on the futon watching The Crown. I'm going to go to sleep soon.
