New Year's Day

Talked to Mom. She sounds awful. She's going to see a doctor sometime this week. She's a little worried because her immune system is suppressed because of the chemo. She slept through the New Year's Eve countdown last night.

Zara likes the bottom shelf of the new kitchen cart. Mom said that obviously we bought it for her.

Today is the first day of recreational marijuana sales in Illinois, and apparently the lines at the dispensaries in Springfield and Champaign are around the block. LOL. Someone said to expect lines at Dairy Queen later today :)

Had a nice nap. I'm trying to decide whether to go see Star Wars tonight. Friday, I'm having a crown put in at the dentist, and Saturday, I talk to Mom, so it's today, tomorrow, or Sunday. I'm feeling kind of low-energy, so maybe I should go today. I decided to go on Friday. I can go to the late show then. I can take acetaminophen if my tooth hurts.

Checked that my automatic rent payment went through. It did. Someday I'll have faith that it went through and stop checking. Of course, that's when something will go wrong.

I've been sleeping a ton. I think that's helping me get rid of the cold though.

Noodled around on TravelZoo's app. A trip to Lisbon and the Canary Islands caught my eye. But my next trip will be to Arizona.

Made potato pancakes. They're a lot easier with a food processor. They came out pretty good, although I'm learning the timing for flipping them. I've got lots of leftovers. And they're cheap to make.

Zara rubbed against my hand before she ate. It's the closest that I've ever seen a cat come to saying, "Thank you."

I finished watching The Crown. Now I need to see if there is anything else on Netflix that I want to watch. I might cancel it for a while and watch HBO Now.
